Dear HOA officials:
Recently I shared with you our plans to inform your residents about Kirtland AFB’s continuing efforts to remediate the fuel plume caused by the leakage of jet fuel on the installation. As you may know Kirtland recently received approval by the New Mexico Environmental Department on three of its four plans to continue cleanup efforts, which will include the drilling of monitoring wells in your neighborhoods (on city property) in the very near term. Our desire is to meet with you and your neighbors as soon as possible to properly inform those affected about this effort and answer any questions you may have on Kirtland’s plans.
Our original plan was to meet with your individual HOAs at their regularly scheduled meetings, but because Elder Homestead and Parkland Hills HOAs are not meeting until after the drilling is expected to begin, we have scheduled a community meeting at the Cesar Chavez Community Center this month.
Date: January 20, 2011
Location: Cesar Chavez Community Center
Time: 6:00 – 8:00pm
HOAs invited: Elder Homestead, Parkland Hills and Siesta Hills**
**We are also available to attend the regularly schedule Elder Homestead and Parkland Hills HOAs in February for re-presentation (if desired, otherwise available for Q&A). Please let me know the dates/times/locations.
Siesta Hills has a January 24th meeting scheduled at the Christ United Methodist, Kirtland personnel will attend for re-presentation (if desired, otherwise available for Q&A). Please let me know the time for the meeting.
Date: January 24, 2011
Location: Christ United Methodist Church
Time: TBD
HOA: Siesta Hills
